After a two year hiatus, we are pleased to re-introduce our Affordable Counselling Program to meet the needs of Cowichan Valley adults, children, teens, families and couples. Safe, confidential, supportive counselling is presently available via Zoom only while we do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19. In person counselling sessions will resume when it is safe to do so.
Our goal is to provide affordable therapeutic counselling by creating a safe space that fosters the growth and increased wellness of individuals, couples, and families. People may seek counselling support at different times in their lives for different reasons. Our certified counsellors are here to provide guidance and compassion, paired with effective active listening and evidence based research strategies to assist clients in making informed choices.
We welcome our new Counsellor and Program Coordinator, Catherine Cooke. Catherine is new to the Cowichan Valley after spending the last 15 years in Maple Ridge raising her family. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling from Gonzaga University. Among her roles, she has worked as an outreach worker, stay at home mom, child protection worker, in private practice and for the First Nations Health Authority among others.
In Catherine's words, "I love what I do for a living - meeting great people from all kinds of backgrounds. I am always amazed at how resilient people can be! I feel it is an honour to do this work and I look forward to meeting and working with all of you."
We offer individual, couple, family, and group therapy. The cost per 50 minute session is $60 plus $3 GST. Etransfers in the amount of $63 can be sent to cmhacvb @ cmha.bc.ca in advance of your session. Receipts will be sent to you by mail.
To book a session, please call 250.732.1265 or send us an email.
