Shaw Brighter Communities Text to Donate

Text to Donate

Shaw, the Cowichan Capitals, and the BCHL are committed to supporting local organizations like ours that are working to make our communities better.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed unprecedented challenges for the non-profit sector as more Canadians are having to rely on our services while resources that our organizations need to continue our essential work in the community are more strained than ever.

Through Brighter Communities powered by Shaw, residents of the Cowichan Valley can help raise funds for the CMHA Cowichan Valley Branch. This text-to-donate initiative is a quick and easy way to show your support for our organization and help build better communities for our youth to live, learn and play.

Shaw, the Cowichan Capitals, and the BCHL invite you to support us by texting CVKIDS to 41010 before May 31 to donate $10. To make your generous contribution go further, Shaw will match your donation, doubling the amount raised to CMHA Cowichan Valley Branch. For more information on this initiative, visit bchl.ca/shaw.

Organizations like ours rely on the generosity of our community and we need your support now more than ever as demand for our services continues to increase. Our Integrated Youth Services programs include U-Fix it BikeWorks, DiscoveryWorks and ArtWorks programs, the Youth Outreach Engagement Program, the Open Door Youth Services Centre, collaborative Malahat Girls' and Boys' Groups, and the Youth Community Action Project. We continue to offer the Rainbows Grief Counselling Program, the Family Capacity Program and a Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP) under our Counselling and Therapeutic programming stream. These youth and family programs are available free of charge.

The donations and matched contributions raised through this initiative will help ensure that charities like ours that have been strained by COVID-19 will be able to continue supporting the Cowichan Valley. Thank you in advance to all our donors, and to Shaw, the BCHL and Cowichan Capitals for their generous support.
